Dragon’s Den School Age Program is seeking a part-time, experienced, Classroom Facilitator. Under supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Classroom Facilitator collaborates with the Lead Classroom Facilitator to help coordinate day-to- day activities and lessons at the afterschool classroom for our incoming Kindergarten class. We have two classrooms and are expanding into a third classroom this fall. Dragon's Den serves grades K-5th and strives for excellence by intentionally integrating high quality, child-centered, anti-bias curriculum, Dragon's Den also proudly participates in the Undoing Institutionalized Racism movement in Seattle. This position is typically 3 hours a day for part-time (during breaks full-time is required) and 6-8 hours a day with benefits for full-time. The facilitator will ensure that the mission and vision of Dragon’s Den is consistently reflected in the daily activities, as well as in how they model their body language, attitude, and enthusiasm for a peaceful, engaging, exciting environment within the classroom.
Our ideal candidate is passionate, has a positive attitude when working with children and a team of staff, displays excellent verbal & non-verbal communication skills, is very dependable and timely, flexible, patient, detailed, and can successfully manage nurturing developmental opportunities for children. We are seeking a facilitator that provides engaged learning opportunities with children and is committed to a sustainable community.
Other responsibilities of the Classroom Facilitator pertain to timely regulation of the classroom, assistance in helping regulate systems to see the classroom stays clean with inviting environments, and collaborating with their team to ensure that Dragon’s Den is an environment where children feel safe, nurtured, and empowered to play and learn.
Full-time or Part time. If full time, hours will be negotiated according to need with our preschool site.
