The University of Akron is seeking an individual to provide real-time support for faculty, staff, and students in operating classroom audiovisual systems and related instructional technology. The role includes managing inventory and maintaining documentation of equipment used in classrooms.

Primary responsibilities involve triaging issues, supporting events, and coordinating reservations for video-conference capable spaces, with a focus on reliability and user-friendly resources.

Qualifications

• Requires some college courses or high school diploma and training in related field.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience and/or training in a computer-related field including hardware, software, and networking.
• Knowledge of audiovisual technology is a bonus.
• Good problem-solving skills and good written and oral communication are required.

Responsabilités

• 45% Triage classroom issues and requests for support and report major failures for repair or replacement.
• 20% Manage audiovisual inventory including installed classroom equipment, on-hand spares, and checkout items.
• 20% Create and maintain documentation related to classroom operation (reference sheets, website guides, installation manuals).
• 10% Provide dedicated in-person classroom support for special events and room rentals.
• 5% Assist with scheduling and reservation of video conference capable classrooms.
