Job summary

Plano ISD is seeking an Assistant Classroom Paraprofessional to support teachers in curriculum preparation and classroom management, under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, supervising students, and helping with documentation and reports within the district’s Title I framework.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, guiding small groups, supervising recess and bus duties, and assisting in inventory and staff development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of 48 semester hours or an associate's degree or higher, or pass paraprofessional assessment.
• Certifiable by the Texas Education Agency in the assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Provide guidance for computer-aided instruction and small group instruction.
• Help organize daily schedules and implement lesson plans.
• Supervise students during school hours, including lunch, bus, and playground.
• Assist with testing, administrative records, and required reports.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

48 semester hours or more / Associate's degree or higher

Certifiable by TEA in area assigned
