Job summary

Togetherhood is seeking classroom assistants to support educators in DC-area schools on short-term to mid-term assignments. Earn $30–$40 per hour for 1–2 hour shifts, with most classes lasting one hour. This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work.

Opportunities span 6 to 18 weeks, offering flexible scheduling and a chance to positively impact student learning and development.

Qualifications

• Must be able to create positive class community and build relationships with students.
• Shows excitement, joy and passion for teaching kids and personal development/learning.
• Cooperative, supportive, flexible.
• Has a strong work ethic and can do whatever it takes.
• At least two references.

What You’ll Do

You will be matched with opportunities to be a classroom assistant for 1-2 hour shifts at schools, buildings and communities across DC. These classroom assisting opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. In this role, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

• Assist the primary classroom instructor in facilitating a great class
• Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!)
• Create memorable experiences for the children in your classrooms
