VETERINARY ASSISTANT CLASSROOM AIDE - PART TIME - DAYS/EVENINGS - UP TO 9 HRS/WK - MONDAY - FRIDAY

Job Summary

The Classroom Aide provides assistance to Primary or Secondary Instructors in the classroom and supports students needing tutoring in both individual and group sessions. The aide works under the supervision of the Associate Director and with support from the Full Time Instructor or other faculty. The aide must not deliver primary instruction or proficiency completion but can support tutoring and remediation needs. The role aims to help the aide gain further experience in the veterinary field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Classroom Duties may include:

• Aiding with computers and classroom technology
• Setting up labs and preparing classroom materials as directed by instructors
• Assisting with hands-on activities
• Performing other non-teaching classroom or tutoring duties as assigned

Outside of Class

• Providing scheduled tutoring support to students
• Restocking and cleaning the classroom
• All work to be performed on campus

Classroom Aides must conduct themselves according to Ross Guidelines, including:

• Maintaining a positive attitude towards faculty, classmates, and students
• Keeping student information confidential
• Upholding academic integrity standards
• Reporting issues exceeding their capacity to Campus Leadership

Requirements

• Graduate from a Ross Medical Education Center Veterinary Assistant or Technician program with at least one year of externship or work experience
• For graduates from other programs: 2+ years of veterinary assisting experience
• State certification is a plus
• Ability to move around campus to support student needs
• Sufficient visual and auditory ability to operate equipment and communicate effectively
• Knowledge of curriculum materials and ability to communicate them
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Office and CampusVue
• Ability to attain or maintain necessary credentials or licensure
• Professionalism in conduct, dress, and demeanor
• Objectivity and fairness in student interactions
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Adherence to Ross Code of Conduct and Ethics
