Job summary

ESS Belle Vernon is seeking a Permanent Classroom Aide for Belle Vernon Area School District. The role supports students under the supervision of a certified professional, assisting with instructional and non-instructional activities to enable participation.

Responsibilities include self-sufficiency training, personal care, and helping students with activities of daily living. A High School Diploma and required clearances are necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
• Classroom aides support instructional and non-instructional activities under supervision of a certified professional.
• Duties may vary by program and assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with self-sufficiency training and maintenance of skills for children with physical disabilities.
• Assume duties of a personal care nature to maximize participation in the classroom.
• Support students in activities of daily living for comfort, well-being, and independence.
• Help manage and maintain the student environment to meet physical and psychological needs.
• Monitor health indicators and psycho-social adjustment as applicable.
• Assist teacher or students to arrange classroom surroundings to meet needs.
• Attend training sessions, in-services, and meetings as requested.
