Job summary

BlazerJobs, Inc. is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to support elementary and middle school students in a 1:1 setting. This full-time contract runs through June 11, 2027, with a fixed 35-hour weekly schedule (8:45AM-3:45PM).

You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and SPED staff to foster an inclusive classroom and use ASL for effective communication. Qualifications include ASL proficiency in education, experience with D/HH learners, a valid ASL certification, and a high school

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for an elementary student in the mornings and a middle school student in the afternoons.

  • Use ASL to communicate and facilitate learning for D/HH students.
  • Support daily living activities and personal care as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and special education staff.

Job description

Take the next step in your career as a dedicated paraprofessional committed to supporting elementary and middle school students through personalized 1:1 instruction. This full-time, contract opportunity offers a unique chance to work closely with students in a supportive school environment from now through June 11, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours (8:45AM3:45PM).

Key Qualifications:

  • ASL proficiency with experience using American Sign Language in educational settings
  • Previous experience supporting children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (D/HH)
  • Valid ASL certification (must be submitted with your application)
  • Comfort and experience working 1:1 with students, including those with special needs
  • Ability to assist with personal care, including toileting and diapering, when necessary
  • High school diploma required
  • Must pass required district background checks and complete necessary paperwork
  • Prior experience in paraprofessional or related roles strongly preferred

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized 1:1 support to an elementary school student in the mornings and to a middle school student in the afternoons
  • Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs
  • Utilize ASL skills to effectively communicate and facilitate learning for students who are D/HH
  • Support students with activities of daily living and personal care, as needed
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and special education staff
  • Maintain documentation and comply with school policies and procedures
