BlazerJobs, Inc. in Middletown, RI is seeking a paraprofessional to support a K-3 classroom of 11 students with diverse needs in a contract role up to 31.25 hours per week, onsite.

You will assist with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth under the supervision of certified teachers. The role requires comfort with personal care tasks including toileting and diaper changes, patience, and teamwork with six other TAs.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school or educational environment is preferred.
• Must fulfill all Rhode Island Department of Education requirements for paraprofessionals.
• Familiarity with supporting students with disabilities, ASD, and language delays.
• Compassion, flexibility, and ability to collaborate daily with fellow TAs.
• Willingness to assist with personal care needs, including toileting and diaper changes.

Job description

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners in an intensive elementary classroom! This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference in students daily lives while collaborating with a dedicated team of teaching assistants.

You will be assisting a K-3rd grade group of 11 students with a range of disabilities, including language and autism spectrum disorders. The supportive environment includes six other TAs, who rotate responsibilities to create a truly team-focused atmosphere. Your comfort with toileting and diaper changing, as well as your patience and understanding, will make you an essential member of this highly coordinated classroom.

Desired skills and background:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school or educational environment is preferred
• Must fulfill all Rhode Island Department of Education requirements for paraprofessionals
• Familiarity with supporting students with disabilities, especially those with language delays and ASD
• Compassion, flexibility, and ability to collaborate daily with fellow teaching assistants
