Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Classified Systems Administrator to manage a diverse IT environment on-site in Huntsville, AL. You will oversee Windows Server/Desktop, Linux, and virtualization, while building automation to enforce RMF/NIST controls and STIGs.

Required active Secret clearance, DoD 8570 baseline certification, and 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's. Strong scripting, vulnerability remediation, and incident response skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • DoD 8570 baseline certification such as Security+ or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server/Active Directory and Windows Desktop.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and patch operating systems and applications.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
  • Maintain and monitor system performance and availability.
  • Respond to incidents from Tier1 to Tier3.
  • Administer Windows Server/Desktop, Linux, and virtualization.

Classified Services is responsible for Aerospace's classified enterprise IT environment. As a Classified Systems Administrator (Systems Administration Staff III/IV), you will oversee server and endpoint infrastructure that supports some of the company's most critical missions. You will join a company that develops cutting‑edge solutions for our nation's most complex space enterprise and mission assurance challenges.
The selected candidate will be required to work full‑time, on‑site in Huntsville, AL.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform all aspects of system administration, including installing, configuring, and patching operating systems and applications.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
  • Maintain and monitor system performance and availability.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents, from Tier1 user support through Tier3 complex technical issues.
  • Administer, secure, and maintain a diverse infrastructure including Windows Server/Desktop, Linux, and virtualization.
  • Administer and improve endpoint protection, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Develop PowerShell and Ansible scripts to automate administration and compliance tasks.
  • Evaluate and remediate security findings from Tenable (ACAS) and SCAP/STIG tools.
  • Maintain compliance with RMF, NIST800‑53, and DISA STIG requirements.
What You Need to be Successful
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • DoD approved 8570 baseline certification such as Security+ or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 or more years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server/Active Directory and Windows Desktop.
  • Working knowledge of RMF, NIST800‑53, and DISA STIGs.
  • Demonstrated ability to remediate vulnerabilities identified by ACAS and SCAP tools.
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for Systems Administration StaffIV include
  • Minimum10 or more years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree or8 or more years of relevant experience with Master's Degree.
  • Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux, virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V, VMWarevSphere) and Cisco networking (IOS, NexusOS).
  • Experience automating repetitive tasks with scripting or DevOps tools.
  • Knowledge and experience deploying SPLUNK and other cyber tools.

Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade‑based pay range for this job is $95,200.00 - $142,700.00 per annum.
