Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Classified Systems Administrator to oversee enterprise IT infrastructure at our El Segundo, CA facility. You will administer Windows Server environments, enforce RMF and DI SA STIG controls, and automate tasks with PowerShell and Ansible.

Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly and meet DoD 8570/8140 requirements. Experience with virtualization and container tools like Docker/Kubernetes is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years experience with a High School diploma or equivalent OR 6+ years with a Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification such as Security+ or equivalent are required.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server/Active Directory & Windows Desktop.
  • Working knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIGs.
  • A current and active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of system administration: install, configure, patch OS and apps; manage users and permissions; monitor performance and availability.
  • Respond to incidents from Tier 1 to Tier 3; ensure rapid remediation.
  • Administer and improve endpoint protection, backup, and DR capabilities.
  • Develop PowerShell and Ansible scripts to automate tasks.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified by ACAS and SCAP tools; maintain RMF compliance.

Classified Services is responsible for Aerospace’s classified enterprise IT environment. As a Classified Systems Administrator, you will oversee server and endpoint infrastructure that supports some of the company’s most critical missions. You will join a company that develops cutting edge solutions for our nation’s most complex space enterprise and mission assurance challenges.

The selected candidate will be required to work full‑time on site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform all aspects of system administration, including:
    • Installing, configuring, and patching operating systems and applications
    • Managing user accounts, permissions, and group policies
    • Maintaining and monitoring system performance and availability
    • Responding to and resolving incidents, from Tier 1 user support through Tier 3 complex technical issues
  • Administer and improve endpoint protection, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Develop PowerShell and Ansible scripts to automate administration and compliance tasks
  • Evaluate and remediate security findings from Tenable (ACAS) and SCAP/STIG tools
  • Maintain compliance with RMF, NIST 800‑53, and DISA STIG requirements
What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Classified Systems Administrator Staff III include:

  • A minimum of 15 years experience with a High School diploma or equivalent OR 6 or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 4 or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant professional experience with a Master’s degree is required
  • DoD approved 8570/8140 baseline certification such as Security+ or equivalent are required
  • Proficiency with Windows Server/Active Directory & Windows Desktop
  • Working knowledge of RMF, NIST 800‑53, and DISA STIGs
  • Demonstrated ability to remediate vulnerabilities identified by ACAS and SCAP tools
  • A current and active Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government is required. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for Classified Systems Administrator Staff IV include:

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V, VMWare VSphere)
  • Hands‑on containerization experience with tools such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes
  • Experience automating repetitive tasks with scripting or DevOps tools

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V, VMWare VSphere) is strongly desired
  • A current and active Special Access Program (SAP) experience and eligibility security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government, is strongly preferred. U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance
