Job summary

Z2 Motorsports in New Britain, CT is seeking an experienced Automotive Body Technician to join our restoration and restomod shop. You will work on classic, muscle, and performance cars with a focus on quality craftsmanship and detailed fitment.

The role offers full-time hours and opportunities to tackle complete vehicle builds in a growing shop. Ideal candidates will have professional automotive body repair experience, strong metalworking and panel alignment skills, and a keen eye for paint prep

Qualifications

• Professional automotive body repair experience.
• Strong metalworking and bodywork skills.
• Experience replacing and fitting body panels.
• Good understanding of panel gaps and body alignment.
• Experience preparing vehicles for high-quality paintwork.
• Experience painting and performing final finish work is not required but would be an excellent addition for this position.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Ability to work as part of a team on larger restoration projects.
• A genuine interest in classic, muscle, and performance cars.

Responsibilities

• Body panel repair, replacement, and alignment.
• Rust and corrosion repair.
• Quarter panel, floor, rocker, and structural panel replacement.
• Metal finishing and bodywork.
• Panel fitment and gap adjustment.
• Door, hood, trunk, and fender alignment.
• Body filler application and block sanding.
• Surface preparation for primer and paint.
• Disassembly and reassembly of repair and restoration projects.
• Repairing previous bodywork and correcting poor-quality repairs.
