Job summary

Laredo College is seeking a Part-Time CLASS Supervisor to oversee the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success during evening and weekend hours. You will supervise student workers, tutors, and coaches, coordinate workshops, and ensure makeup testing runs smoothly for instructors.

You will collaborate with the Lead/Director of CTEL and other staff to deliver programs, track participation, and develop outreach materials proving the center’s value to students and faculty alike.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and administer makeup exams (face-to-face and online) for instructors during evening/weekend hours.

• Monitor students referred by faculty to ensure appropriate academic coaching.
• Conduct academic coaching through individual or group sessions and workshops.

• Research and evaluate potential student success technologies and services.
• Serve as site supervisor and point of contact for evening/weekend operations.
• Meet regularly with leadership to coordinate and monitor program services.
• Provide statistical data on programs and student visits during evening/weekend hours.
• Engage in outreach to inform faculty and students about services offered during evening/weekend hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The CLASS Supervisor (PT) is responsible for the operation and supervision of the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success during the evening hours. The CLASS Supervisor (PT) is responsible for coordinating the academic success support services offered during the weekend and evening hours. This includes maintaining the required supervision of student workers, tutors, Academic Success Coaches, and CLASS Instructional Lab Assistants. Supervising/administering makeup testing (face-to-face and online) for instructors and providing the necessary educational support to all students. The CLASS Supervisor (PT) should work closely with the Academic Success Coach Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of workshops during the evening and weekend hours. Furthermore, they are required to work closely with the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success Lead/ Director of CTEL, Academic Success Coaches, faculty, CLASS Instructional Lab Assistants, student workers, and tutors.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

1. Supervises and /or administers make-up exams (face-to-face and online) for instructors.
2. Supervises student workers, tutors, and the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success staff during the evening and weekend hours.
3. Coordinates with Center staff in identifying, developing, and implementing learning strategies and study skills during the evening and weekend hours.
4. Monitors students referred by faculty to ensure students are receiving the appropriate academic coaching during the evening and weekend hours.
5. Works with Academic Success Coaches in conducting academic coaching through individual or group sessions and workshops that will help students assess their own performance and develop academic success plans during the evening and weekend hours.
6. Assists the Director in developing and implementing programs such as peer mentoring, student success workshops, and summer camps on various topics surrounding student success strategies during the evening and weekend hours.
7. Researches, evaluates, and recommends the purchase of student success technology programs and services.
8. Acts as site supervisor and point of contact for the Center for the evening and weekend hours.
9. Meets regularly with the Academic Success Coach Coordinator, Academic Success Coaches, Director of Student Support Services, and the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success Lead/ Director of CTEL to coordinate and monitor program services.
10. Provides statistical data for programs and the number of student support visits for the evening and weekend hours.
11. Works on providing outreach efforts to inform faculty and students of the ongoing services provided by the Center during the evening and weekend hours.
12. Develops informational brochures for services offered.
13. Performs additional duties assigned by the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success Lead/ Director of CTEL.

The CLASS Supervisor (PT) is supervised by the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success Lead/ Director of CTEL.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
