The Salvation Army USA Western Territory in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Class D Box Truck Driver/Production Assistant for a full-time position. The role pays $19.00 per hour for 40 hours per week and includes excellent medical and dental benefits.

Ideal candidates are hardworking, accountable and enjoy helping others. You will follow daily routes, load/unload cargo safely, assist a truck helper, and maintain a clean driving record while adhering to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate electronic route information equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily routing directions and stay on route unless directed otherwise.
• Manage time to complete route within scheduled work hours; routes to be 100% completed daily.
• Safely load and unload the truck; assist with loading/unloading of other trucks as requested.
• Train and supervise a truck helper in the Work Therapy Assignment, modeling good work habits.
• Provide courteous customer service and promptly report donor problems or concerns to dispatch.
• Abide by all DOT regulations and state/local laws; maintain a safe driving record.
• Attend driver safety meetings as required; perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Following daily routing directions and avoid going off route unless directed by the Transportation Supervisor or their designee.
• Managing time daily to complete the route within the approved work schedule. Routes are to be 100% completed each day, unless approved.
• Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of the assigned truck; assist in safe loading/unloading of other trucks as requested.
• Train, instruct, and supervise a truck helper in their Work Therapy Assignment, recognizing the helper is in a rehabilitation program and modeling good work habits.
• Responsible for Bag & Tag as instructed by Supervisor and procedure.
• Provide courteous customer service and promptly report donor problems or concerns during donation pickup to the supervisor through dispatch.
• Abide by all DOT regulations and state/local laws while maintaining a safe driving record. Attend driver safety meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor, Director of Production, or their designees.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Ability to operate electronic equipment used for route information
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist
• Ability to grasp and move objects such as files, carts, and equipment
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks

Schedule

• Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate coverage
• Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays
