Job summary

Safety-Kleen in El Monte, CA is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee (Driver Class B Trainee). This role trains to drive a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services in a defined route.

They offer a 1-week out-of-state training academy, significant OT, and a $5K sign-on bonus. Home nightly with uncapped commission and a path to full CDL training within a dynamic safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Class B CDL and obtain Hazmat/Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required.
• Basic computer and math skills needed for daily tasks.
• Ability to perform physical functions and lift as required by the role.
• Background check, drug test, and physical are required by position.
• Must meet OSHA Respiratory Protection standards (facial hair rules).

Responsibilities

• Visit multiple customer sites per day on a defined route.
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions.
• Service parts washer machines and clean sediment from sinks.
• Upsell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field.
• Deliveries and pickups, and ensure timely services.
• Follow all safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• May visit 10-12 customer sites per day
• Switch out 15- & 30-gallon drums of solutions
• Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks
• Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field
• Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Class B CDL
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Basic computer and math skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
• Per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or Non-CDL)
