Unitex is seeking a skilled and dedicated Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician to join our manufacturing team in Linden, NJ.

Compensation: $25.00/hr to $30.00/hr. Actual compensation depends on experience, seniority, location, and other job-related factors.

Schedule: To be discussed during screening prior to interview, based on seniority per Union Contract.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, press machines) to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, working with the team to resolve them promptly.
• Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems as needed.
• Follow safety and quality standards in maintenance procedures.
• Document maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory updates.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Experience as a Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician or similar in an industrial setting, preferably in laundry.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques for laundry equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of safety practices in industrial environments.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintenance records.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently following instructions.
