Job summary

Roadway Moving is seeking an experienced Class B CDL driver to lead long-distance residential moves from pickup through final delivery. You will operate the truck, serve as Foreman, and act as the primary client contact and crew leader on site.

The role emphasizes protecting belongings, maintaining safety standards, and delivering a remarkable moving experience. Prior moving and foreman leadership are strongly preferred, with travel up to multi-day trips.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL in good standing.
• Minimum 21 years of age (federal interstate driving requirement).
• Prior moving industry experience preferred.
• Current DOT medical certificate; able to pass DOT physical and testing.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record; FMCSA Clearinghouse clearance.
• Professional moving experience; long-distance moving preferred.
• Foreman/lead driver experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to load, unload, and protect household goods.
• Strong customer-facing communication in homes.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including multi-day trips.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and move heavier items with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class B trucks on long-distance moves.

• Lead crew loading, unloading, and staging household goods.
• Wrap, pad, pack, and secure belongings for transit.
• Complete residential pickups and final deliveries.
• Direct crew and keep jobs on schedule and within safety standards.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain logs and DOT docs.
• Verify inventory and paperwork at both ends.
• Communicate with customers and dispatch throughout each job.

What You'll Do

• Operate Class B commercial trucks on long-distance and interstate moving assignments
• Serve as Foreman and primary client contact at pickup and delivery
• Lead and work alongside the crew loading, unloading, and staging household goods
• Ensure furniture and belongings are properly wrapped, padded, packed, and secured for transit
• Complete residential pickups from client's homes and deliver to final destination
• Direct crew members and keep jobs on schedule and within safety standards
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain logs and required DOT documentation
• Verify inventory and paperwork at both ends of every move
• Communicate proactively with customers and dispatch throughout each job

What You'll Need

• Valid Class B CDL in good standing
• Minimum 21 years of age (federal requirement for interstate driving)
• Prior experience in a moving industry highly preferred
• Current DOT medical certificate; able to pass DOT physical and required testing
• Acceptable motor vehicle record and FMCSA Clearinghouse query
• Professional moving experience required; long-distance moving strongly preferred
• Prior foreman, lead driver, or crew leader experience preferred
• Demonstrated skill loading, unloading, and protecting household goods
• Comfortable working in customers' homes with strong customer-facing communication
• Willingness to travel extensively, including multi-day trips away from home
• Able to perform the essential physical functions of the role, including lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs and moving heavier items with assistance or equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation

Compensation

$150,000–$200,000 annually
