Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental in Ashland, VA is seeking a Class B CDL Driver to safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials for our diverse client base. You will operate vacuum trucks, roll-offs, and box trucks, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate digital logs in accordance with DOT regulations.

You should be safety-minded, able to work independently and with a team, and willing to participate in on-call rotations and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and drive commercial vehicles per regulations.
• Rotate on-call duties as part of Emergency Response.
• Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to disposal/recycling facilities.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain digital logs of hours and vehicle status per DOT rules.
• Complete manifest paperwork accurately.
• Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely deliveries.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials.
• Properly secure loads for safe transport.
• Participate in ongoing training and development.

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Class B CDL Driver for our Ashland, VA team. You will safely transport hazardous and non‑hazardous materials to various locations, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

This highly motivated & safety‑first individual will be responsible for operating Class B commercial vehicles, conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate digital logs, and adhering to safety policies and procedures.

This position reports the Field Services Project Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

• Safelyoperate and drive commercial vehicles, including but not limited to vacuum trucks, roll‑offs, and box trucks, in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Rotating on‑call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team.
• Transport hazardous and non‑hazardous waste materials to disposal or recycling facilities.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in safe operating condition.
  
• Maintain accurate digital logs of working hours, vehicle service, and repair status, following all applicable DOT regulations.
  
• Complete all required manifest paperwork and documentation accurately.
  
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
  
• Assist with loading and unloading of materials as needed.
  
• Properly secure load to ensure safe & compliant transportation of materials.
  
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to maintain industry knowledge and skills.

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
  
• Valid ClassB Commercial Driver's License.
  
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.
  
• Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre‑employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
  
• Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
  
• Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday).
  
• Ability to work overtime on a regular basis.
  
• Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts.
  
• The Driver position frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and responsible for taking on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety‑sensitive.
  
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.

Preferred Requirements:

• Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Previous experience in environmental services or related field.
