Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Position trailers and switch empty/full trailers to keep operations moving.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and chock wheels.
• Maintain awareness of safety hazards in all weather conditions and inspect trailers before pulling away.
• Handle ~60 moves per shift in a fast-paced yard.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse managers via radio and onboard computer.

Job Duties

• Yard hostlers will drive and maneuver yard goat & trailers from dock to dock, switching out empty trailers with full trailers to keep production moving.
• Safety is always the key, so drivers must be safety-minded, perform pre- and post-trip inspections daily, and chock rear wheels
• Be aware of safety hazards in all weather conditions, and check trailers before pulling away from the dock doors.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, moving approximately 60+ moves per shift, with a VERY tight yard
• Driver must have strong communication skills as they will be interacting and taking direction from dispatchers or warehouse managers on a consistent basis through radio and on-board computer system.

Driving Requirements

• 22+ years of age
• Valid CDL-A license
• DOT Medical Card
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR
• 1 year CDL experience (within the past 3 years)
• No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (within the past 3 years)
• No DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations (within the past 5 years)
