Job summary

Melhorn Sales, Service, and Trucking is seeking a full-time driver based in Mount Joy, PA. The role emphasizes safe operation of a Class A vehicle, adherence to Hours of Service, and teamwork to ensure timely deliveries of live poultry while maintaining biosecurity standards.

The position offers local to regional routes with occasional overnight work. Required are a Class A license with air brake endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to manage loading/unloading tasks and basic

Qualifications

• Class A license with air brake endorsement required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to drive outside the United States (passport or passport card) preferred.
• 1 to 2 years' experience preferred.
• Background in Agriculture preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to use or be trained on smart technology (smartphone and iPads).
• Ability to perform physical loading and unloading responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Capable of safely operating and driving a Class A vehicle.
• Capable of maneuvering a Class A truck around tight loading/unloading locations (backing up).
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Record hours of service and report any repairs needed for your truck.
• Know Hours of Service and FMCSA regulations for commercial drivers.
• Collaborate with others to ensure daily tasks are completed smoothly.
• Assist the job foreman and perform physical loading/unloading tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Class A license with air brake endorsement (required)

Job Responsibilities

• Capable of safely operating and driving a class A vehicle
• Capable of maneuvering a class A truck around tight loading and unloading locations (be able to back a truck up)
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Ability to write up any and all necessary repairs to your truck that need to be fixed
• Have a working knowledge of the Hours of Service and FMCAS regulations forcommercial drivers
• Ability to record hours of service on an ELD or willingness to learn to use an ELDAbility to work with others and jump in when needed and where needed (our line ofwork requires that the job be done that day and as smooth as possible)
• Capable of helping the job foreman and assisting them however they need
• Capable of performing job tasks like loading and unloading your truck that may bevery physical at times
