Job summary

A&L Foods, Inc. in Bensalem, PA is seeking a Part-time Class A Tractor-Trailer Driver to transport food products between our warehouse and customer locations during Sunday-Thursday nights.

The role requires a CDL, a clean driving record, and compliance with DOT hours of service. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered to selected candidates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and DOT Card.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a Class A tractor-trailer.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations, including hours of service, and DOT compliance.
  • Ability to safely operate large vehicles in various road and weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and move products weighing up to and exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Clean criminal background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class A tractor-trailer to transport food products between A&L warehouses and to customer locations.
  • Ensure timely delivery and pick-up of products according to pre-established schedules.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is safe and roadworthy.
  • Maintain accurate records of delivery times, mileage, fuel use, and any delays or issues encountered.
  • Ensure all cargo is securely loaded and unloaded in accordance with safety standards. Assisting with those processes as needed.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations related to driving and vehicle operation, including hours of service using company provided ELD.
  • Keep the vehicle and associated equipment in good working condition, following the company’s maintenance schedule, including regular cleaning of the truck’s interior.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients and other A&L staff during deliveries, ensuring that products are delivered in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and DOT medical card at all times.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed or assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

Class A Tractor-Trailer Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of food products between our warehouse and customer locations. The driver will ensure that all deliveries are made in compliance with all transportation laws and company policies while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and customer service. This position requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles during overnight hours.
