Job description

Position Summary

Handle all deliveries and pickups in a timely and professional manner, following all DOT regulations at all times. Runs could have the minimum of 2-3 days out.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Following DOT guidelines, make deliveries and pickups (80% non-touch, 20% live unload) as scheduled within a 300 to 400-mile air radius of Lansdale, PA;
  • Call in all damages and shortages before leaving account. If leaving any delivery location during non-office hours, leave a message on Dispatch phone with any order discrepancies, detention time or other required information;
  • Notify the dispatcher as soon as they are aware that they may/will not be able to complete their work assignment legally; DOT compliance and providing dispatch with adequate notice of being “out of hours” is of the utmost importance;
  • Insure BOLs match the trailer and load you are given;
  • Remain in frequent contact with dispatch throughout the day on all loads;
  • Maintain company requirements:
    • Keep daily Logs and inspect equipment daily according to DOT regulations;
    • Obey all traffic laws;
    • Maintain entire balance of petty cash minus current receipts for total sum supplied;
    • Meet with dispatcher once a week to reconcile petty cash;
    • Complete and turn in all paperwork upon returning to office
  • Work in a safe manner, consistent with company safety rules and regulations
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
Required Education, Skills & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of ELODs and GPS tracking as trucks are equipped with this software
  • Class A CDL driver’s license required
  • Two years’ experience, accident free driving, violation free driving
Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands
  • Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid‑resistant leather shoes, etc.)
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant)
