Job summary

JP Mascaro & Sons, Reading, PA, seeks a reliable Class A CDL Driver with Tanker endorsement to join our Berks County team. Operate tractor trailers on daily routes, safely handle leachate and coordinate with the Operations Manager to complete loads with accuracy.

This full-time role requires adherence to DOT regulations, medical fitness, and DOT/random drug testing. Benefits include health coverage and a strong team-oriented culture in a family-like environment.

Qualifications

• A valid PA CDL Class A with Tanker endorsement.
• Must meet DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screen.
• Drivers are subject to random substance testing under DOT and company policy.
• Ability to deal with customers and co-workers effectively.
• High level of attention and dexterity to operate the vehicle safely.
• Ability to sit for long periods and work outside in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor trailer per DOT regs and company standards.
• Safely operate the tractor and tanker on daily routes and orders.
• Transports and offloads leachate at regulated wastewater plants.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager and handle loads and instructions.
• Record load weights, logs, route sheets, and maintenance needs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
• Report accidents or violations immediately and comply with safety rules.

What You Will Do:

• Operate a tractor trailer in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and in accordance with established standards for excellent customer service on established daily route sheets, special orders, and regular work orders
• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the tractor and tanker.
• Transports and offloads leachate at a regulated wastewater treatment plants
• Coordinates regularly with the Operations Manager to ensure all loads are completed as well as communicate any questionable materials and special instructions
• Obtain load weight tickets and sign for loads and maintains any related records required, i.e. driver’s log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, etc.
• Cleans truck daily to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations, inclusive but not limited to the cab
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post trip vehicle condition report
• Reports any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report and reports it immediately to the route supervisor or operations manager
• Immediately reports to the company and accident, traffic violation, or license suspension
• As well as other duties as assigned or described in the job description for this role

Qualifications

• A valid PA Commercial Driver’s License CDL Class A with Tanker endorsement.
• Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening.
• As a safety sensitive employee, all drivers are subject to random substance abuse screening under DOT and company policy.
• Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.
• Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.
• Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods. Able to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted multiple times a day.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
