Job summary

T.E. Stevens Construction is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator - Class A with at least five years of experience. You will operate bulldozers, excavators, and motor graders, read grade stakes, and follow OSHA and MSHA regulations on site.

Outdoor work in varying weather is required, with travel to multiple job sites as needed. We offer competitive pay and strong safety standards across projects in Birmingham, AL and beyond.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience operating bulldozers, excavators, and motor graders.
• Must be able to read grade stakes, blueprints, or site layouts.
• Must be physically able to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment on construction and site development projects.
• Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions.
• Cut, grade, slope, and finish to specifications using dozers and graders.
• Excavate trenches and load trucks with excavators.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance.
• Follow MSHA and OSHA safety regulations on all sites.
