Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions (CCFS) seeks safety-conscious, Class A Linehaul Drivers to transfer freight to specified locations in a timely manner, hook and unhook trailers, and complete government and company paperwork. Our drivers are home daily with weekends off, enabling a healthy work-life balance while delivering quality service across the Western and Central United States.

With Monday–Friday shifts starting around 4pm, drivers handle various routes and occasional P&D work.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
• At least 21 years of age.
• 1 year of commercial driving experience.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or willingness to obtain (reimbursed).

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Hook up and haul trailers between customer/terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or supervisor.
• Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and accompanies shipment to delivery point.
• Operate tractor-trailer for long distances.

• Des Moines, IA to Eagan, MN to Des Moines, IA (462 miles)
• Des Moines, IA to Kansas City, KS to Des Moines, IA (Flat Rate, $151/trip)
• Des Moines, IA to Omaha, NE to Des Moines, IA (Flat Rate, $150/trip)
• Occasional P&D work (paid Hourly, $34/hr)

This position requires transferring freight to specified locations in a timely manner, hook and unhook commercial trailers, and complete all paperwork required by government regulations and company procedures/policies. Essential Job Duties

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Hook up and haul trailers between our customer/terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or immediate supervisor
• Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point
• Operate tractor-trailer combination for extended periods of time, over long distances

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 21 years of age
• 1 year of commercial driving experience
• No DUI’s or DWI’s (in the past 3 years)
• No more than 3 traffic violations (in past 3 years)
• Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain - renewals reimbursable
• This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to hook and unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, to manually lower and raise landing gear, to operate fifth wheel release levers, to lock and release pintle-hooks, to attach and release safety chains, to open and close cargo doors, to climb into and out of vehicles, and to fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.
