Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions, Kansas City, KS, is seeking safety‑conscious Class A Linehaul Drivers. This role involves transferring freight to designated locations, hooking and unhooking trailers, and completing paperwork per DOT regulations and company policies.

Drivers are home daily with weekends off, supporting a healthy work‑life balance. The position requires a valid Class A CDL, at least 21 years old, and 1 year of driving experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and at least 21 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience.
• No DUI/DWI in past 3 years and no more than 3 traffic violations in past 3 years.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or willing to obtain; renewals reimbursable.
• Successful completion of pre-employment skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Hook up and haul trailers between customer/terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or supervisor.
• Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point.
• Operate tractor-trailer for extended periods and long distances.

SHIFT: Monday-Friday, (9-10pm Start) ROUTE: Kansas City, KS to Des Moines, IA PAY: $151/trip ($302 daily) REPORTS TO: Linehaul Manager LOCATION: Kansas City, KS

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 21 years of age

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to hook and unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, to manually lower and raise landing gear, to operate fifth wheel release levers, to lock and release pintle-hooks, to attach and release safety chains, to open and close cargo doors, to climb into and out of vehicles, and to fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.
