Job summary

Ponder Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a reliable Class A Driver (Vacuum/Rolloff) to join our field operations team in California. You will operate vacuum tanks, roll-off trucks, dry vans, and other equipment to safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.

The role requires 3+ years of commercial driving experience, a CDL with Tanker, HazMat and Double/Triple Trailer endorsements, and a 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification. ELD experience and DOT knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of commercial driving experience in transportation, hazardous waste, or industrial services.
• Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and basic digital workflows.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle operation.
• Experience operating vacuum trucks, roll-offs, and heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-duty trucks (26,000 lbs+), with or without trailers.
• Transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials per DOT/environmental rules.
• Perform and document DVIRs and maintain ELD logs.
• Hook up, disconnect, and secure trailers; manage load tie-downs.
• Load/unload materials with appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Operate vacuum/hydro-excavation equipment and other machinery.
• Conduct routine fueling, fluid checks, and basic maintenance.
• Follow routes, including Hazmat routing, with no unauthorized stops.
• Maintain clean equipment and communicate with dispatch/shop staff.
• Assist field crews and uphold safety standards at all times.
