Job summary

Bunzl Distribution NA in Salt Lake City is seeking a Class A CDL driver for local and long-distance deliveries, starting early at 4am on Tue-Fri with overnights. You will inspect, load/unload, and ensure safety and on-time delivery to customers.

You must maintain a clean driving record, pass background checks and drug tests, and comply with DOT/ELD regulations while providing excellent service and reporting issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate and navigate a variety of commercial vehicles.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and loading/unloading as needed.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best driving practices.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Must pass background checks, drug tests, and maintain a current medical card.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and ELD compliance.
• Able to perform overnight runs.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods to customer locations, local and long-distance, in a timely manner.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and timely submission of logs and paperwork.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading and ensure items are secured.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Report vehicle issues to management promptly.

Job description

4 - 10 hour days | $25/hr. | 4am start time

Tuesday - Friday Work Schedule | Off Saturday, Sunday and Monday!

2 overnights.

A Day in the Life

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods in a timely and safe manner to customer locations, both local and long-distance.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and ensure timely submission of logs and paperwork.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading, ensuring items are safely secured.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, reporting any issues to management immediately.

The Must-Haves

• Valid Class A CDL.
• A clean driving record, based on our fleet safety standards.

• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best driving practices.

• Must be able to do overnight runs.

Preferred Requirements

• At least 2 years of Driving experience.
• Experience with GPS and routing software.

Salary Range

$25 per hour based on experience, education and market data in the geographic location. Paid Weekly.

• Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance available to employees and eligible dependents starting the first day of the month after 30 days of employment (unless otherwise specified by a collective bargaining agreement).
• 401(k) retirement plan with a generous company match of $0.75 per $1.00 contributed, up to 6% of eligible pay, available after 30 days.
• Paid time off, including (Pro-rated based on hire date):
  • 10 vacation days and 2 personal days annually (prorated in the first year based on hire date).
  • 40 hours sick for exempt | 56 hours sick for non-exempt per year, in accordance with Washington State law.
  • 6 paid national holidays and 2 floating holidays
