Job summary

Bunzl North America is hiring a Driver in Illinois who will operate Class A tractors, conduct pre/post-trip inspections, and deliver goods to local and distant locations. You will follow safety rules, maintain logs, and ensure cargo is secured while upholding Bunzl’s customer service standards.

The role requires a Valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and the ability to pass background checks and drug tests.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate and navigate various commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and load/unload.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and driving practices.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Willingness to pass background checks, drug tests, and maintain a medical card.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and ELD compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.

Monday-Friday | Pay Rate: $29.50/hr | 1 Overnight Required Monthly

A Day in the Life

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods in a timely and safe manner to customer locations, both local and long-distance.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and ensure timely submission of logs and paperwork.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading, ensuring items are safely secured.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, reporting any issues to management immediately.

The Must-Haves

• Valid Class A CDL.
• A clean driving record, based on our fleet safety standards.
• Ability to operate and navigate a variety of commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle loading/unloading responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best driving practices.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance

Preferred Requirements

• At least 2 years of Driving experience.
• Experience with GPS and routing software.
