Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Drive trucks to assigned locations.

• Maintain radio/phone contact with supervisor for instructions.
• Clean inside of truck and perform routine maintenance on trucks or equipment.
• Follow safety requirements at all times.
• Open work orders when assigned to log time to the correct department.
• Report accidents to HR with details (names, licenses, etc.).
• Obtain customer signature on receipts for pickups/deliveries.
• Work harmoniously with all departments.

SUMMARY

• Primary responsibility is to drive a heavy truck at an excess capacity of more than three (3) tons; to specified destinations and locations, and to perform the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Drives trucks or equipment to assigned location.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
• Cleans inside of truck. Performs routine maintenance on trucks or equipment.
• Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them.
• When assigned, will open a work order so time may be charged out to assigning department.
• Reports accidents to HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
• Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery of vehicle or equipment.
• Must work with and for all departments in harmony.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• This position requires a CDL Class A license and clean driving record to remain insurable.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of two years long distance driving experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• High skill level driving heavy trucks. Highly detail oriented and organized in work. Acceptable written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
