Job summary

Welch Packaging in Indianapolis is seeking a responsible Truck Driver to operate tractor-trailers or box trucks. This role involves ensuring safe and efficient delivery of products while adhering to all regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, a CDL A License, and experience driving large vehicles. You will perform inspections, verify product counts, and comply with company policies and safety measures.

Summary

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws.

Schedule

Monday - Friday
12pm - 8pm

Essential Functions

• Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
• Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy.
• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and that it is the correct load before leaving facility.
• Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
• Comply with obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
• Comply with performance measures.
• Duties may vary depending on location.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL A License.

Experience

Physical Demands

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to ambient temperatures. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. On the road, the employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions.
