Summary

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor‑trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws.

Description

3rd Shift: 6 pm – 4 am
4‑Day Work Week
Up to $29 / hour

Essential Functions

• Complies with driver responsibilities as outlined in the company DAART program and as required by DOT.
• Maintains vehicle in accordance with Elkhart Transportation management policy.
• Operates the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Supports on–time delivery by transporting loads by established route to the proper destination as efficiently as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspects trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and verifies that it is the correct load before leaving the facility.
• Verifies product count while the truck is being loaded.
• Obtains correct acknowledgement or signature and date for the bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; returns properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
• Complies with performance measures.
• Duties may vary depending on location.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL A license required.

Experience

• Prior experience driving large vehicles such as a box truck or similar.
• Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices.
• Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred.

Physical Demands

Work Environment
