Job summary

Mead Lumber Company is seeking a Class A Driver to safely deliver building materials to customer job sites. You will operate company vehicles, assist with loading/unloading, verify orders, and provide excellent service.

Adhere to DOT rules and safety policies while maintaining a professional attitude. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class A license with a clean driving record, and the ability to load/unload, lift up to 70 pounds, and work in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Proficiency in using a computer and calculator.
• Ability to stand and walk for 4 to 10 hours daily.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Load trucks according to the sales invoice and list of materials.
• Organize and secure loads to ensure safe and efficient transport.
• Verify accuracy of loads with the yard manager before departure.
• Deliver and unload materials at customer job sites, ensuring satisfaction.
• Follow delivery instructions and ensure timely deliveries.
• Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Record delivery information on the sales invoice and communicate customer messages from the job site.
• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company trucks and forklifts, including wearing seat belts at all times.
• Adhere to yard loading and security procedures.
• Accurately process merchandise returns with a credit memo.
• Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned yard and areas.
• Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
• Must be able to work in ALL weather conditions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
