Job summary

Mead Lumber's Truss Craft of Montana, a Mead Lumber Company, is seeking a delivery driver to safely and promptly deliver roof trusses, wall panels, and other building materials to customer sites in Billings, MT. You will secure loads, inspect equipment, unload materials, and ensure on-time deliveries while complying with DOT regulations.

The role requires a valid CDL, manual transmission experience, ability to lift up to 70 pounds, and willingness to travel interstate as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Manual transmission experience required.
• Moffett forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to navigate construction sites safely.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to travel across state lines.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Load trucks according to the sales invoice and list of materials.
• Organize and secure loads to ensure safe and efficient transport.
• Verify accuracy of loads with the yard manager before departure.
• Deliver and unload materials at customer job sites, ensuring satisfaction.
• Follow delivery instructions and ensure timely deliveries.
• Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Record delivery information on the sales invoice and communicate customer messages from the job site.
• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company trucks and forklifts, including wearing seat belts at all times.
• Adhere to yard loading and security procedures.
• Accurately process merchandise returns with a credit memo.
• Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned yard and areas.
• Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
