Job summary

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial and non-commercial vehicles.

• Notify Manager of unsafe equipment or delays in delivery schedules.
• Communicate with customers on arrival and departure times.
• Coordinate with Manager on delivery schedules and issues.
• Assist in training other drivers as needed.

Description

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting rental equipment to and from customer job sites and company locations. Duties include loading, unloading, and securing equipment; completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintaining accurate delivery records; and following DOT regulations and company safety procedures. This position also assists with yard operations and provides professional, dependable customer service. Requires a valid Class A CDL, a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to safely handle construction equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate commercial and non-commercial vehicles
• Loading, securing and unloading heavy equipment for transport, by utilizing chains/binders and straps according to DOT regulations.
• Perform DOT required pre and post trip inspections
• Bring to the attention of the Manager any equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use.
• Communicate with customers when arriving and departing.
• Communicate with Manager regarding any issues regarding delivery schedules, delays, etc.
• Must be able and willing to help train and assist other drivers in need of assistance
• Participate in all training programs directed by Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of experience driving a CDL truck with a flatbed or RGN trailer.
• Prior experience with commercial equipment preferred
• Must possess customer service skills to communicate effectively with customers.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL driver's license, valid medical card, and clean driver’s record.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Work Environment

• Safety is # 1 importance, and policies must be adhered to all times.
• Exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment in operation.
• Exposure to outdoor environment and working in varying weather conditions.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as needed.
• Lifting heavy parts and materials is required.
