Job summary

Bunzl is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to join our team in the United States. Starting pay is $34/hr with a $5,000 sign-on bonus, reflecting the importance of drivers as ambassadors and customer contacts for Bunzl.

You will drive, inspect, and deliver goods locally and long-distance, while upholding safety regulations and accurate logs. The role includes benefits and opportunities for advancement within Bunzl.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record per fleet safety standards.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug tests, and maintain an active medical card.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance.
• Strong safety awareness, communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle loading/unloading responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods locally and long-distance to customer locations.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain logs and paperwork, and report issues to management.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading and ensure items are secured.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Keep vehicle properly maintained and compliant.

A Day in the Life

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods in a timely and safe manner to customer locations, both local and long-distance.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and ensure timely submission of logs and paperwork.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading, ensuring items are safely secured.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, reporting any issues to management immediately.

The Must-Haves

• Valid Class A CDL.
• A clean driving record, based on our fleet safety standards.
• Ability to operate and navigate a variety of commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle loading/unloading responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best driving practices.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Preferred Requirements

• At least 2 years of Driving experience.
• Experience with GPS and routing software.
