Job summary

Sub Source, Inc. in Rockford, IL seeks a professional Truck Driver to perform regional deliveries and pickups, operating box trucks and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.

You will complete delivery paperwork, verify items against BOL, maintain logs per DOT rules, and assist with loading/unloading while keeping docks clean and organized. Hazmat endorsement willingness and forklift experience are valued, with English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable MVR.
• DOT Medical Card or ability to pass DOT physical.
• Commercial driving experience (box truck and/or semi) preferred.
• Willingness to obtain Hazmat endorsement within a reasonable timeframe post-hire (reimbursed).
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial box trucks and tractor-trailers for regional deliveries and pickups (primarily Rockford/Chicago loop).
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT regulations.
• Complete delivery paperwork, verify counts against Bills of Lading (BOL), and obtain customer signatures.
• Maintain clean driver logs and immediately report mechanical defects or delays.
• Assist Shipping & Receiving with loading/unloading incoming and outgoing freight.
• Stage, organize, and move materials throughout the plant using forklifts.
• Verify incoming freight against packing slips and stage jobs for production departments.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe dock and vehicle storage areas.
• Make sure the repairs needed to the truck are immediately communicated.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).


• Current DOT Medical Card (or ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen).


• Commercial driving experience (box truck and/or semi) preferred.


• Ability and willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement within a reasonable timeframe post-hire (company reimbursed) to transport crated customer assemblies (nitrogen-charged accumulators).


• Forklift experience is a plus.


• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
