Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Semi Driver responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw materials with prompt, efficient customer service and strict adherence to safety and company policy.

Responsibilities include running the established route, weighing in/out, maintaining the vehicle, performing safety inspections, completing paperwork, and maintaining DOT hours of service; a clean MVR and CDL A with tanker endorsement are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CDL Class A with tanker endorsement.
• Must have a clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
• Must be registered on the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Run established route; pick up raw materials; weigh in/out at customer location as needed.
• Maintain company vehicle; keep it in clean condition.
• Conduct safety checks and inspections; operate vehicle in compliance with regulations and company policy.
• Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting a professional appearance and attitude.
• Complete all required paperwork (route tickets, DVIR, mileage reports, service forms).
• Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily.
• Comply with DOT hours of service using onboard computer.

Job Summary

The Semi Driver is responsible for operation of commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw material with attention to prompt and efficient customer service.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Run established route; pick up raw materials; weigh in raw material when returning to plant and weigh in and out of customer location as needed.


• Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition.


• Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.


• Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting professional appearance and attitude.


• Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc).


• Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily.


• Maintain DOT hours of service with onboard computer in accordance with company policy.


• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be current CDL Class A holder with tanker endorsement and clean MVR.


• Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 Years experience preferred


• Works well with others in a team environment.


• Dependable; reliable


• Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance.

Physical Demands

• Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.


• Frequently required to reach up with both arms in securing tarps, etc.
