Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Semi Driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle for raw material pickups with emphasis on prompt and courteous customer service.

Responsibilities include following established routes, weighing in/out, tarp and load safety, and maintaining vehicle condition. Qualified candidates must be 21+, hold a CDL A with clean MVR, and be FMCSA Clearinghouse registered. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A with clean MVR.
• Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw materials and weigh in/out at plant or customer locations as required.
• Ensure loads are tarped before leaving plant or customer site; maintain cleanliness at locations.
• Maintain and operate company vehicle in clean condition; perform routine maintenance checks.
• Conduct safety checks and inspections; comply with state, federal, local regulations and company policies.
• Maintain excellent customer relations with professional appearance and attitude.
• Complete all required paperwork (route tickets, vehicle inspection reports, mileage logs, service forms, etc.).
• Maintain daily vehicle condition reports and comply with DOT hours of service rules.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Run established route; pick up raw materials; weigh in raw material when returning to plant and weigh in and out of customer location as needed.
• Responsible for ensuring loads are tarped before leaving plant or customer location; maintain cleanliness at customer locations.
• Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition.
• Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
• Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting professional appearance and attitude.
• Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc).
• Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily.
• Maintain DOT hours of service with onboard computer in accordance with company policy.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be current CDL Class A holder with clean MVR.
• Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but not required.
• Works well with others in a team environment.
• Dependable; reliable
• Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance.

Physical Demands

• Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently required to reach up with both arms in securing tarps, etc.
