Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a Class A CDL operator to support railroad field operations across the Richmond region. This role combines driving, heavy equipment operation, material handling, and hands-on railroad construction support.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, transporting machinery, load security, and assisting with derailment recovery and track construction. A strong safety mindset and ability to work 24/7 are essential.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with valid credential.
• Clean driving record and authorized for 24/7 emergency calls.
• Experience in construction labor or physically demanding work.
• Ability to pass required qualification tests and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Drive tractor-trailers between home base and job sites.
• Inspect transported machinery, materials, and loads before and during travel.
• Confirm transportation permits and overweight/oversize load requirements.
• Safely load, secure, transport, unload, and stage equipment and materials.
• Participate in daily work planning and safety meetings before field activities begin.
• Support rerailing and derailment recovery operations.
• Assist with railroad car maintenance and repair.
• Support load adjustment and transfer work.
• Assist with track maintenance, repairs, grading, and new track construction.
