Class A CDL OTR High Mile Drivers

Climate Express has been moving full truckloads of freight across the United States for 29 years. We employ 200 company drivers who keep families across America supplied with essential household goods. Our fleet features safe Volvo tractors equipped with modern amenities, offering high miles, consistent paychecks, and solid home time. We are a team. We are strong. Together we can get things done.

Equipment

- 2022 or newer Volvo 760, automatic trucks. Features include ergonomically designed seats, optimal steering position, 70" L / 96" W sleepers, pull-out tabletop, larger built-in refrigerators, auxiliary power units with built-in manual power inverter (3500W), dual antennas, flat screen TV mount, satellite radios, right way scales on trucks and trailers, Elite Pass for scales, tolls, and bridges. On-site repair facilities and wash bays are available.

Pay

- Starting pay ranges from .55cpm to .58cpm, paid on practical miles whether loaded or empty. Additional pays for detention, layover, and other allowances are determined by load and hours. Average weekly pay is between $2,600 and $3,200, paid weekly via direct deposit. Drivers are paid for work completed in the current week.

Home Time

- Drivers typically get 2 full days off after working 12-14 days within our operating area. Some drivers may stay out longer in outlying areas and be compensated with up to 4 days off. Home time is agreed upon prior to hiring and can be adjusted for special events or appointments upon notification.

Loads & Routes

- 98% of freight originates in Missouri; over 55% is drop and hook. The rest involves 1 pick-up and 1 drop-off. We operate dry van and reefer trailers (climate-controlled, no slaughterhouses, no fresh meat). Most freight is in the US middle corridor, avoiding NYC, ports, and borders. Freight is mostly contracted, with routes on major highways. No dedicated routes are assigned.

Rider Policy

- One passenger aged 12 or older, available from day one.

Canine Policy

- $500 fee per pet; up to 2 small dogs or 1 large dog. Deduction of $100 weekly until paid off. The policy is non-refundable once the pet is in the truck. No policies for cats, reptiles, or birds.
