Job summary

Smyrna Ready Mix LLC is seeking a Class A CDL Block Operator to safely transport concrete blocks from the plant to customers and SRM locations, while also supporting yard operations.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain logs, load blocks, and work with dispatch to meet delivery schedules, delivering professional service and upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and current DOT Medical Card.
• Clean driving record with no major incidents in 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT safety regulations for material transport.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and handle physical tasks.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment screenings.
• Team-oriented and dependable mindset.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A truck to deliver blocks.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT.
• Complete delivery logs and paperwork accurately.
• Coordinate with dispatch for delivery instructions.
• Load blocks onto trucks and unload at sites.
• Follow routes, schedules, and safety procedures.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites.
• Operate a loader and assist yard operations as needed.

About the Opportunity

Are you a skilled and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver looking for a dynamic role in the block industry? SRM Concrete is seeking a reliable and motivated Class A CDL Block Operator to join our Block team. In this pivotal position, you’ll ensure the safe and efficient transportation of concrete blocks to customers and plant locations, while also supporting operations in the yard when not making deliveries. Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A truck, transporting blocks from the plant to customers and various SRM locations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with all DOT regulations.
• Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide timely updates on route progress.
• Securely load and unload blocks, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently to prevent spillage or damage.
• Adhere to established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete with professionalism and respect.
• Operate a loader to load blocks onto trucks and assist with yard operations as needed.
