Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Fleet Driver I to transport vehicles between locations and vendors. You will perform thorough safety inspections, secure loads, and deliver cars on time while representing CarMax professionally to vendors and store teams.

Applicants must have a valid CDL Class A or CMV experience, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and meet DOT/FMCSA requirements. The role offers outdoor work with daily home-time and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• 2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience or CMV driving experience at CarMax.
• Physical ability to handle up to 50 pounds and secure vehicles.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and environments.
• Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safety first—conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Stay compliant—maintain DOT logs and documentation.
• Transport with care—load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles safely.
• Be accountable—move vehicles between CarMax locations using company trucks.
• Deliver with purpose—ensure on-time delivery to support inventory flow.
• Represent CarMax professionally with vendors, store associates, and the public.
