Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Class A CDL truck driver for first-shift routes. You’ll be home every night and weekend with a safe driving record and 12 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience.

You’ll securely strap loads (no tarping), deliver freight on time, handle POD, communicate with customers, and perform required DOT inspections with an electronic logbook. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, PTO/holiday pay, tuition reimbursement,

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 21 years of age
• 12 months of recent verifiable tractor trailer experience in the past 3 years
• Safe Driving Record
• Ability to secure loads
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Properly secure loads. NO tarping – ONLY strapping
• Accurate and timely delivery of freight and handling of customer product returns when required
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections
• Maintain electronic logbook and complete trip reports
• Direct the unloading by customers, when required
