Job summary

CarMax in Raleigh is seeking a Fleet Driver I to transport vehicles between locations and vendors. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain DOT logs, and load, secure, and unload cars safely.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service, with a schedule designed to get you home daily. CDL Class A and 2+ years CMV experience preferred; competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• All drivers 21+ must have a valid state license.
• Must meet CarMax Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and secure vehicles per FMCSA standards.
• Must be able to climb, bend and kneel; work outdoors in all weather.
• CDL Class A and 2+ years of CMV driving experience required.

Responsibilities

• Safety first — perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and CarMax standards.
• Maintain accurate DOT logs and documentation.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company truck.
• Deliver vehicles on time to support inventory flow and customer schedules.
• Represent CarMax professionally when interacting with vendors and staff.
