Job summary

Maxim Crane Works in the United States (Texas – Freeport) is seeking a Class A CDL driver to safely move equipment and materials on short hauls between Maxim locations and customer sites. You will ensure proper loading, securing, and documentation.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of heavy-load driving, and strong knowledge of DOT regulations. An associates degree is preferred for advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• Associates or Vocational degree preferred.
• 2+ years' experience driving heavy loads, including permits

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial motor vehicles and equipment at Maxim locations and customer job sites.
• Reconciles Bill of Lading (BOL) against load and ensures correct components are prepared for transport.
• Ensures all materials are properly tied down and secured for transport.
• Assists other employees with loading and unloading of cranes and components.
• Understands axle weight distribution and adjusts loads accordingly.
• Prepares and verifies receipts for materials picked up to ensure logs and paperwork comply with DOT regulations.
• Maintains logs and records as required by DOT regulations.
• Maintains and checks truck equipment and supplies to ensure roadworthiness.
• Notifies supervisor of repairs and may perform minor roadside repairs.
• Maintains accurate reporting of expenses and receipts for company credit and fuel cards.
• Performs required pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Participates in safety procedures, programs, and meetings.
• Complies with FMCSA rules & regulations.
