Job summary

Maxim Crane Works, LP is seeking an experienced local/short-haul driver to safely move equipment and materials between Maxim locations and customer job sites.

You will operate commercial motor vehicles, manage load securement, document BOLs, and maintain logs per DOT regulations while supporting loading/unloading of cranes and related components. A CDL A with clean record is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience driving heavy loads, including loads requiring permits.
• Associates or Vocational degree preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial motor vehicles and other equipment at company locations and customer job sites.
• Reconciles Bill of Lading (BOL) against load and prepares transport components.
• Ensures all materials are properly tied down and secured for transport.
• Assists loading/unloading of cranes and components as needed.
• Understands axle weight distribution and adjusts loads accordingly.
• Prepares and verifies receipts for materials to ensure logs comply with DOT regulations.
• Maintains logs and records as required by DOT regulations.
• Maintains and checks truck equipment for roadworthiness.
• Notifies supervisor of needed repairs and may perform minor roadside repairs.
• Maintains reporting of expenses with company credit/fuel cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Participates in safety procedures and meetings.
• Stays compliant with FMCSA rules & regulations.
