Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc. is seeking a full-time Driver to transport and deliver building materials to customers, distribution centers, and job sites using a tractor-trailer. You will ensure safe, on-time deliveries with strong customer service and proper documentation.

The role emphasizes compliance with DOT rules, pre/post-trip inspections, and the ability to work independently in a regional delivery setup. Base pay starts at $28.00 per hour, plus an $8,000 bonus, with weekends at home.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A).
• 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 acceptable).
• 1 year of flatbed experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Willing to strap flatbed loads.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually.
• Multi-drop delivery experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Ability to plan and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to work safely and prevent unsafe conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver material in route truck/multi-drop fashion to destinations per Federal regulations.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and maneuvering in heavy traffic or tight loading docks.
• Maintain driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage, and other required records.
• Comply with Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a CMV.
• Answer questions about packing lists, invoices, packaging, and content; direct to appropriate contact when needed.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment.
• Report necessary repairs or maintenance promptly.
• Ensure compliance with DOT guidelines.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay starts at $28.00 per hour

$8,000.00 Bonus

Shift: Full-Time, Monday through Friday weekends home

This position sits within our Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. The Ideal candidate will provide customer responsiveness and efficient material handling and delivery activities.This is a hands‑on regional delivery driving position.

• Deliver material in “route truck/multi-drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations


• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas


• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law


• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle


• Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact


• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly


• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment


• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed


• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines


• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License


• 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)


• 1 year of flatbed experience


• Clean driving record


• Willing to strap flatbed loads


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.


• Multi-drop delivery experience a plus


• Ability to work independently or with a team


• Ability to plan and manage time efficiently


• Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions
