We’re hiring experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers

Shift: Daily dispatch varies, typically between 8pm-9pm; home every day

Location: Jessup, MD

Delivery Driver Qualifications:

• Drivers must be 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years.
• No more than 12 months unemployed in the last 5 years.
• Current driver’s license and DOT medical card.
• No CDL accidents in the last 36 months.
• No major violations in the last 36 months (speeding, cell phone use, seatbelt violations, distracted driving, reckless driving).
• No suspension related to driving performance in the last 36 months.
• No DUI in the last 5 years.
• No more than 3 jobs in the last 5 years.
• Experience with regular lifting in the last 3 years.
• Ability to work overnight, including Friday and Sunday nights.
• Successfully pass a road test in a Food Authority truck prior to employment.

Preferred Driver Requirements:

• Experience delivering from a liftgate.
• Minimum 1 year of material handling equipment experience.
• Experience working overnight shifts.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure shipment of temperature-controlled and undamaged products, proper count of goods, and FIFO inventory management.
• Manage Driver Apprentice/Helper.
• Drive vehicles to designated destinations for customer deliveries.
• Drive safely, deliver products within deadlines.
• Load/unload products from trucks or trailers.
• Organize and put away products as per customer specifications.
• Maintain driving logs, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete daily reports.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Follow scheduled routes for deliveries.
• Maintain and organize delivery paperwork.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly lift 25/50/80 pounds.
• Respond quickly to sounds.
• Move safely over uneven terrain or confined spaces.
• Respond to dangerous situations.
• See well at night and drive in the dark.
