Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply seeks a Class A CDL Driver to transport inventory from Jacksonville, FL. The role covers delivery routes within a 150-mile radius, requiring careful load securement, on-time deliveries, and accurate paperwork.

You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain logs in a safe, compliant manner. Qualified candidates have a valid Class A license, at least one year of tractor-trailer experience, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A driver’s license.
• At least 1 year of proven tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations.
• Must pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform related duties.
• Ability to operate GPS and basic loading equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and safely drive the delivery vehicle per company rules and laws.
• Drive trucks over 26,000 lbs GVW and pull towed loads as required.
• Secure contents to prevent damage and ensure proper loading.
• Obtain client signatures and complete delivery paperwork.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs and communicate issues to maintenance.

About this position

The Class A CDL Driver will be responsible for transporting company inventory, inspecting and adjusting loads on trucks, and maintaining accurate reports and documentation. This position includes delivery routes within a 150-mile radius. Must be detail-oriented, work responsibly under minimal supervision, and have a clean driving record. RESPONSIBILITIESOperate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle according to company regulations, state and federal laws, and customer policiesDrive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs. and pull a towed vehicle weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damageSafely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinationsObtain signatures and complete necessary paperwork to confirm and complete deliveries with clientsConfirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest documentPerform pre and post trip inspections of vehicle and report all defects to the maintenance department.Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encounteredMaintain detailed driving and delivery logs – Electronic logs a mustDemonstrate a thorough understanding and compliance with the company's and DOT’s safe practices and regulationsEnsure that all safety procedures remain a priority by maintaining a clean and organized workspaceREQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma/GED requiredValid Class A driver’s license required1+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer drivingClean driving record with no moving violationsMust pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug testMust be physically capable of performing all duties relating to the position, including lifting up to 75 lbs., and the ability to bend, climb, stoop, and sitAble to operate GPS, an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.Disciplined, dependable, and flexibleCustomer service skills and ability to represent the company in a positive manner
