Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a safety‑minded Class A CDL Driver to transport concrete blocks from plants to customers and SRM locations in Ohio. This role also supports yard operations when not delivering.

A valid CDL, DOT medical card, and a clean driving record are required. You will conduct vehicle inspections, maintain delivery logs, and communicate with dispatch to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL and current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations or accidents in the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transportation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
• A proactive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A truck, transporting blocks from the plant to customers and SRM Concrete locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and DOT compliance.
• Complete delivery paperwork and logs per company policy.
• Maintain communication with dispatch for delivery instructions and updates.
• Load and unload blocks safely, minimizing spillage or damage.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites.
• Operate a loader to load blocks and assist yard operations as needed.
